Avoiding spyware and adware is not too overly difficult, it just involves a few steps of precaution. One of the first lines of protection against adware and the such is to use a spyware detection program. There are several different spyware removal programs out there that work fine. Another way to help curb the level of adware on your computer is to run virus protection. Also if you use a browser such as firefox you will be safer. If you chose to use internet explorer you can still turn off features such as active x etc.

You will also want to install a personal firewall. These will help twart some attempts of spyware to connect to the outside world and other malicious activities such as that. The best line of defence against spyware is to use common sense. Avoid shady looking sites, sites with tons of popups, active x and things like that. Also avoid downloading programs from non-authorized sources. These programs have been known to contain spyware, virus, adware, and other malware problems.

One thing that might tip you off that there is a spyware application running on your computer is if it suddenly starts to run slower. A slow machine is often times a sign that there is adware or spyware running and it is calculating metrics and things like that. A lot of times the spyware applications consume a lot of memory because they are not written very efficiently.

VX2 malware

Many people have recently been having troubles with the VX2 adware and several of its nasty spin-offs. Some of the people reporting problems with this report that it causes problems with Nail.exe and DrPmon.dll.

This adware builds a click path of the computers infected by it. It then sends this data to a server.
